What is a Great Teaching Team?

Great Teaching Teams are a way for colleagues to develop their teaching expertise together. A team provides a shared space where colleagues can connect their professional development, meet regularly, share ideas and resources, and support one another's development.

Teams are designed to support collaboration around professional learning and classroom practice. Teams might be made up from colleagues within in the same department or phase, or they could be colleagues brought together by a shared focus from the Model for Great Teaching.

You can use a Great Teaching Team to:

• bring colleagues together around a shared element or dimension
• support colleagues who are working on different development goals
• plan and hold structured meetings
• share meeting resources and notes
• support coaching conversations and personalised support
