What will I do in the ‘Develop expertise' phase?

The Great Teaching Toolkit development cycle is a four-stage, evidence-informed process that supports personalised professional development by helping teachers set goals, build understanding, develop skills, and reflect on changes in their practice. It is a personal space for teachers to record and reflect on their own professional development, and the content can only be viewed by the teacher, unless they choose to share it.

In the third stage of the development cycle, the focus shifts to implementation and practice. You will:

    • Select and apply a chosen technique in your classroom
    • Adapt approaches to suit your specific context
    • Capture reflections on your practice

At any point during this phase, you’ll have the option to review your progress so far, and collate your professional learning activities in your personal learning log
