Can recordings be used for assessment or performance management?
No. The Lesson Recording tool is only for ECT development, mentoring and research.
Lesson recordings must not be used for:
- teacher appraisal, including ECT induction assessments
- performance management
- capability or disciplinary procedures
- pupil behavioural monitoring
- deciding, reviewing or investigating pupil sanctions
- investigating classroom incidents or behavioural disputes
These prohibited uses are covered in the Data Sharing Agreement all schools must sign before the tool is unlocked for their school.
