What do I need to do to get started?

The tool is designed to be as flexible and easy-to-use as possible, to fit with your busy role.

Induction tutors will:

  • handle school‑level approvals and send out parent notifications,
  • let you know if there are any pupil opt‑outs in any of your classes1.

Once everything is in place, the recording tool will appear in PRISM.

Before recording for the first time, we ask that you read the “Recording best practices” information, which can be viewed when you've accessed the lesson recording tool in Prism.

 

1When you record a lesson, you’ll be prompted to tick an opt‑out box if the transcript from your recording can’t be used for research – whether because of pupil opt‑outs or your own choice. This doesn’t affect recording the lesson for your professional development.
