How is teacher data protected?

Teacher data is handled carefully and securely. This means:

• recordings are stored securely within NIoT systems
• recordings are only accessible to the ECT or mentor who recorded the lesson, and to an ECT’s mentor if they choose to share them
• access to the tool is protected by 2‑factor authentication
• teachers can choose to opt-out of their lesson transcripts being used for research when they start a new recording
• transcripts used for research have names and other identifying details removed
• recordings are automatically deleted after 30 days
• teachers can delete your recordings at any time (see “Can teachers delete recordings?” for more details)
