Is Lesson Recording a requirement of the ECT Programme? (Mentor)

No. The Lesson Recording tool is not a requirement of the ECT programme.

Individual schools choose whether to enable the tool. Choosing not to enable it will not affect participation in the ECT programme.

If a school does enable the tool, individual ECTs and mentors can still choose whether or not to use it. They are not required to record lessons, share recordings or use recordings in mentor meetings.

The tool is available as an optional way to support ECT professional development and mentoring. It is intended to complement existing ECT and mentor activity, not replace it or add a new requirement.

Schools can also change their decision later and withdraw the tool through the permissions page in PRISM.
