What is the Lesson Recording tool?
The Lesson Recording tool is a new feature in PRISM that allows lessons to be securely recorded to support ECT development.
- ECTs can record lessons for their own reflection and, if they choose, share them with their mentor.
- Mentors can watch ECT recordings and write notes, which they can copy into the mentor meeting proforma. They can also record their own lessons to model effective practice, which can be watched and discussed together in mentor meetings.
The tool is about learning and improvement, not judgement or evaluation.
Transcripts from lesson recordings may also be used to support NIoT research, but individual teachers remain in control and can opt out in the tool when making a new recording, without affecting the recording’s use for professional development and mentoring.
