This will very much depend – both on the specific role of the staff member, and also on the student(s) they are supporting.
The Toolkit is anchored around the 17 Elements of Great Teaching – those things that consistently, over time, have a positive impact on student outcomes. It is also designed to help anyone who supports students in their learning – whether as a classroom teacher, a senior leader or a member of support staff. The extent to which the elements will apply to specific roles will vary, but we are confident that, by engaging with the Great Teaching Toolkit and the continuing professional development it offers, every educator will be able to diagnose which elements should be their primary focus, and access the right support from there.
