We’ve created a number of courses as part of the GTT to help you explore the various Dimensions and Elements of the Model for Great Teaching in more detail. Over time, we intend to update the current courses with the best emerging research evidence, as well as adding further teacher- and lead-level courses. At the present time, there aren’t courses for Dimension 1: Understanding the content in the toolkit. We do, however, plan to add these in the future.
In the meanwhile, you can still select this Dimension to work on but your exploration would have to be more self-directed. We’d suggest the best place to start is the Evidence Review and the summary of the Dimension 1, which includes a number of references that would prove a good starting point for further reading.
You can also use the Resources area of your GTT account to search for resources relating to Dimension 1, including articles, blogs and podcasts.
For teachers interested in exploring Dimension 1, we have created a set of reflection prompts that will support discussion within a team. Alongside the Evidence Review and Resources area, these will help you to build your knowledge and share ideas amongst colleagues that you might try out in your classroom.
